For over three decades, the Dominican Republic has been at the heart of our premium cigar craftsmanship.
Generations of skilled artisans transform carefully cultivated tobacco into some of the world’s most renowned handmade premium cigars.
At Tabadom Holding Inc. the production facilities of Oettinger Davidoff AG, tradition and innovation work hand in hand to ensure the highest standards of quality and consistency.
The heart of handmade craftsmanship
The Dominican Republic plays a central role in the company’s “Crop-to-Shop” philosophy. Tobacco cultivated in carefully selected terroirs is grown, dried, fermented, aged, and ultimately blended and rolled into cigars by experienced torcedores (cigar rollers).
Every step in the process follows a clear objective:
to preserve the natural character of the tobacco and transform it into a refined and unique cigar experience.
From the careful selection of seeds and leaves to the final inspection of the finished cigar, the production process combines traditional craftsmanship with precise and consistent quality control - combining Caribbean Passion with Swiss Precision.

Seeds
From 225'000 seeds per plant, we sow only the strongest and most viable. Premium taste begins at birth.

Cultivation
We are constantly developing tobbaco plants that will adapt to changing weather conditions much better than their ancestors.

Harvest
Each tobacco leaf has its own maturity level. Every three days, we harvest two leaves per plant. We take our time to fill yours beautifully. Because quality cannot be rushed.

Curing
During curing process the leaves change their colour from green to yellow to brown. At the beginning the leaves consist of 85% water, 60% of weight is lost during curing and the chemical composition of the leaves change. This is the start of the development of flavour and aroma.

Fermentation
Fermentation is the key to perfect balance of flavours and combustion. We don't rush our fermenting. Fast pace equals sharp taste. All harsh elements are naturally removed during our prolonged fermentation process.

Ageing
The best thing you can do to a tobacco leaf is leave it alone. So we let our leaves sleep for longer to allow them to develop the flavours which you will enjoy.

Sorting
While filler, binder and wrapper tobaccos are all categorized and stockpiled before they are chosen for production, the wrapper leaves are categorized once again by colour directly before rolling.

Blending
Our Master Blenders make sure that every cigar blend has exactly the same amount of raw ingredients. Caribbean passion and Swiss precision bring you a consistent taste experience.

All our cigars are wrapped around years of experience. You can taste the commitment in every cigar: Perfect combustion, pleasant draw, sophisticated taste.

Our cigars go through the most quality control inspections in the world. It takes an experienced human touch to know a cigar is right.

Behind every cigar stands a team of dedicated professionals whose expertise has often been shaped over many years.
Master blenders, torcedores and quality specialists work closely together to maintain the consistency and character of each blend. Their knowledge, precision and passion ensure that every cigar reflects the company’s long-standing commitment to excellence.
Many of the artisans working in the Dominican facilities have spent decades refining their craft, passing their knowledge on to new generations of cigar makers.
A culture of responsibility
Responsibility in the Dominican Republic goes far beyond production. It is reflected in the way people are supported, developed and cared for – every single day.
The company provides a dedicated Learning Centre, offering complimentary English classes exclusively for the children of employees. Currently over 180 children between the ages of 6 to 14 attend these classes.
This CSR-initiative supports the next generation by creating access to education and new opportunities beyond the workplace.
A strong sense of community is equally important. The company’s own softball field and team bring together employees from across all levels of the organisation. It is a place where hierarchy disappears and team spirit becomes tangible.
Daily life is supported through a spacious and thoughtfully designed cafeteria, offering employees a place to rest, connect and recharge.
